Created for a fundraising event, where patrons had paid for a dinner at the museum. It was to raise money for kids programs to enable the museum to do more for the local community and education. The theme for the evening was precious stones and each table was themed with a tray of the actual stones bedazzling the table. The more you donated the better the jeweled table you sat at. Of course the top table was decorated with a pile of real diamonds especially loaned for the evening.
The animation we conceived used a diamond gradually being revealed from “in the rough” to a fully cut stone. Added over were words that spoke both about the cutting of these stones and the way a child’s character can also be formed out of the rough. While it isn’t on this sample the final piece started with the words.
“A child is like a diamond in the rough. The way it is shaped will effect it’s brilliance forever.”
This was shown before the speeches but to the organizers surprise, after the opening was played, another $40,000 was given in donations at the actual event.
