MAGIK - The Movie

A non-stop, excitement-filled action-adventure.

It is HARRY POTTER meets INDIANA JONES and takes place in two parallel worlds. The story begins in London at the time of the Blitz, and moves between there and the parallel world of MAGIK. It is in those two worlds that the outcome of World War Two will actually be fought and decided. Below are examples of early design work and tests.

The beginning of a wonderful action-adventure animated movie, being produced by Black Marsh Entertainment LLC has an amazing cast signed on and details can be found on the IMDB button to the right.

The lead character from the real world, who gets involved in saving the Magik and real worlds, is LEWIS. He is helped by the hilarious Troll character JACOB, who he meets in the Magik world.

Our Props Philosophy

A magic world where EVERYTHING is different.

Our concept for this feature is to make everything, in these world, proprietary whenever possible. So that even a magic wand ends up being something unexpected. Here are two ideas we looked at for the wands. Above is the preferential solution where the wand itself, an unusual design, emits pulses, each of which seem to have a life of their own … as if they are alive, intelligent and decide on their own course to hit their target or avoidance … Intelligent zaps!

And below, a soft wand, which hardens if you use it, then feeding off of your veins … a vascular wand … yikes!!! And then one of the some tests for intelligent pulses, which we affectionately named wobblyblobs., here shown in an animatic render with slow motion. And then a more finished version of the Vascular Wand, which perhaps is not quite as palatable for squeamish viewers to watch.

Slowed down version of the Wobblyblob, which once shot at a target decides on it's own course and can even take avoidance action if it needed.

The wand, floppy in its resting state, hardens when needed and inserts itself into the user's veins to draw power from them. Not exactly a comfortable idea to watch but we definitely left no stone unturned in exploring ways to make everything we could in Magik, proprietary.
